Provides the thermodynamic and transport properties for water and steam over the entire range of pressure and temperature values as defined by the IAPWS (International Association for the Properties of Water and Steam) IF97 Industrial Formulation. Note that the NIST steam tables (National Institute of Standards and Technology) and ASME steam tables (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) are also based upon the IAPWS IF97 Industrial Formulation.
The user’s inputs may be pressure and quality, pressure and enthalpy, pressure and entropy, entropy and enthalpy, pressure and quality, or temperature and quality. In addition to the standard thermodynamic and transport properties; pressure, temperature, quality, specific enthalpy, specific entropy, specific internal energy, specific volume, isobaric heat capacity, isochoric heat capacity, speed of sound, viscosity and thermal conductivity; the program may also be used to return the steam properties partial derivatives. These partial derivatives of water and steam are useful for steam turbine performance testing and uncertainty calculations, steam boiler performance testing and uncertainty calculations, optimal geothermal steam separator flash pressure calculations, water and steam flow and uncertainty calculations, etc. The inputs and results to the program may be in SI (MPa, bar, kPa, Kelvins, Celsius, kg, etc.) or in US or British customary units (psi, degrees Fahrenheit, BTU, etc.) with the exception of the partial derivative calculations which currently are only available in SI units.
